It's the immensity of fuzz and digital noise coating these productions that separates Jesu from fellow shoegaze resurrectionists like Ulrich Schnauss - the sound palette is that little bit more ascerbic when Broadrick is at the helm, and you can even hear some of the low-end guitar grind of old during the EP's title track. The final two tracks are alternate versions of 'Farewell' and 'Why Are We Not Perfect', and the former stands out in particular as a more abstract interpretation, dissolving the drums away and embracing a Kevin Shields-like sonic miasma, only for chugging, palm-muted guitar to emerge half way through"
