Mono - The Phoenix Tree EP (2007)

"Its The Phoenix Tree by Mono and its a musical interpretation of the aftermath of the the atomic bomb in Hiroshima. Its amazing that something so destructive could inspire something so beautiful. Reading the press we're taken on a journey and as track 2 appears we have soft spoken vocals pattering like the black rain that followed the night after the bomb. 3rd track is called rainbow and is a string orchestra playing to the clouds and to the rainbow that bloomed the night after that. The final track is called little boy and its' named after the first bomb that fell ( sounds all post rock like a Mogwai. Produced by Steve Albini this is a beautiful piece of music and is heading straight home with me. highly recommended heartfelt release. The opening track alone which sounds like Sigur Ros with bigger balls is worth the purchase alone. Singles club on temporary residence"
